Tusker boosts Prinsloo Sevens with Sh3 Million Sponsorship
Tusker has given the Prinsloo Sevens a major boost with a sponsorship package worth Ksh 3 million as the second leg of the 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit heads to Nakuru this weekend.
The tournament, set for Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August at Nakuru Athletics Club, follows the thrilling Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa, where KCB Rugby edged Strathmore Leos 15–14 to claim the opening title.
Prinsloo Sevens is expected to draw top clubs and thousands of fans to the Rift Valley for another weekend of intense rugby action.
Kenya Breweries Limited, through its flagship brand Tusker, confirmed that it will continue in its role as the official alcoholic beverage and entertainment partner, just as it did at the Driftwood Sevens.
Of the sponsorship, Ksh 1.5 million will support Nakuru RFC in organising the event, while the other half will enhance fan experiences, including powering the official afterparty.
“We’re building on the incredible energy from Mombasa,” said Christine Kariuki, Head of Mainstream Beer at KBL.
“The energy, the passion, and the sense of community we witnessed at the coast was everything we hoped for. Now we turn our focus to Prinsloo Sevens — a tournament with deep roots and massive significance in Kenya’s rugby culture.”
Kariuki promised an experience similar to what fans enjoyed in Mombasa.
“Our support will go towards logistics, fan experiences, and event visibility — including powering the official afterparty, which, if Driftwood was anything to go by, is set to be a highlight of the weekend,” she added.
Nakuru RFC chairman Aggrey Omiyo welcomed the support, calling it a huge boost for the tournament.
“We are truly grateful to Tusker for coming on board once again to support Prinsloo Sevens. Preparations have gone smoothly, and we expect a strong turnout and a fantastic weekend of rugby here in Nakuru.”
With teams like KCB, Kabras, and Strathmore ready to battle for points, rugby fans can look forward to an action-packed weekend in Nakuru.
